1. Capturing a Portrait
Think about:
- Orientation of camera – horizontal vs. vertical
- Distance from subject.
- Be sure to focus on your subject.
- Crop your image appropriately. Remember, there is no Photoshop to fix when you crop out too much!
Advanced:
- Utilize perspective and distance, subject placement and originality in composition.
- Use studio lighting in a series of basic settings.
- Use a variety of gestures, cropping, lighting and angles to create mood within a black and white portrait.

Blemish Adjustment
Camera raw Basic Adjustments & Mask
Blurred Adjustments
Camera raw again w/ Mask
& Burn & Dodge tool (sponge as well)
